The East Singhbhum district has launched a state-wide special awareness campaign against illegal drugs. The campaign was initiated at the Collectorate complex, where Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi inaugurated an awareness chariot. The chariot is designed to promote the message of drug-free living across the district. It will travel through different blocks, educating the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner led the officials and staff in taking a pledge against drug addiction. He pointed out that drug use affects personal health, future prospects, families, and society, causing both mental and physical health problems. The Deputy Commissioner urged all members of the community to join the campaign and help build a drug-free society. He encouraged citizens to actively participate and educate others in their surroundings about the dangers of drugs. The campaign aims to spread the message of freedom from addiction throughout the district, inspiring everyone to stay away from the detrimental effects of substance abuse. The special campaign, running from June 10 to June 26, 2025, includes various awareness programs to educate people about the adverse effects of drugs.
