The residents of Chhattisgarh, currently enduring a severe heatwave, could soon see conditions improve. The extended dry period has taken its toll on humans, animals, birds, and plants alike. Livestock are struggling to find water, and vegetable yields are down due to the lack of rainfall.
The Meteorological Department anticipates a weather shift in the coming days. The environment is becoming favorable for the southwest monsoon to make its entrance into the southern regions of the state. Heavy thunderstorms and gusty winds, accompanied by rain, are expected across various locations on June 14th and 15th.
On June 11, Bilaspur saw a maximum temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, which was 2.3 degrees lower than the normal average. The city also registered the highest temperature across the state.
If the forecast is accurate, the agricultural sector, animal population, and general population can look forward to some relief from the heat in the days ahead.
