In a gesture of profound respect, the cricketing community came together to remember the victims of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12th. The tragic event claimed the lives of approximately 242 individuals. The plane was en route to London Gatwick Airport from Ahmedabad Airport. At the 2025 WTC Final hosted at Lord’s, a minute of silence was observed as a tribute to those who perished. On the third day of the match between Australia and South Africa, Australian cricketers Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon were at the batting crease. In a display of solidarity, players from both teams wore black armbands.
