Man Attacks and Kills Woman with Axe, Injures Others, Jumps into Well in Jharkhand

Tragedy struck in Gumla, Jharkhand, as a man, identified as Baliram Khadia, committed a brutal act of violence, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to three other individuals. The incident occurred in Kamaltoli village. Khadia entered the home of Anil Khadia and requested water. When Anil’s wife, Reena Devi, went to get the water, Khadia attacked her with a ‘tangi,’ causing her death. Following the murder, Khadia attacked two other women, Chandramani Devi and another woman, and also assaulted a four-year-old child. In an attempt to evade capture by villagers, Khadia jumped into a well, but was later apprehended by the police. The police are investigating the incident, considering the possibility of mental instability on the part of Khadia, and also investigating the rumors surrounding superstition. The police arrested Baliram Khadia.
