Karthik believes Gill may not yet fully grasp the responsibilities and challenges of being a Test captain, especially in the challenging conditions of England. He noted the difficulties faced by many strong teams in England. Karthik also noted England’s bowling as a possible weak point that India can take advantage of. Gill has a Test record of 1,893 runs in 51 innings with an average of 35.05. He has scored five centuries and seven half-centuries.
