Donald Trump has retreated from claiming responsibility for preventing a potential war between India and Pakistan. Instead, he attributed the avoidance of conflict to the leaders of both nations.
Speaking from the White House, Trump said ‘two smart people’ made the decision to avoid war, referring to the leaders of the nuclear powers. He mentioned his meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, and a recent meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi. He also expressed frustration over Iran’s decision not to accept a deal during his previous administration, saying, ‘They should have made the deal. I had a great deal for them.’
