A tragic incident in Beed, Maharashtra, saw farmer Suresh Jadhav die by suicide due to the non-return of his fixed deposit. Jadhav, 46, hanged himself outside the cooperative society office after the institution failed to refund the Rs 11.5 lakh he invested in 2020. The farmer had been pleading for the money for two years to pay for his children’s education. After threats, the cooperative society refused to return the money. Police are investigating and have filed a case of abetment against the former president of the cooperative society.
