The evacuation of Kashmiri students from Iran under Operation Sindhu has begun, with the first group arriving on Thursday. While the operation has been largely successful in bringing back 110 Indian students, including 94 from Kashmir, the travel arrangements provided by the Jammu and Kashmir government have faced criticism. Students voiced concerns about the lack of direct flights from Delhi to Srinagar and the poor condition of SRTC buses. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office have been commended for their role. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responded to the concerns by apologizing and promising better transport for the returning students.
