A wedding in the Jichho village of Bhagalpur, Bihar, was called off following threats received by the groom from the bride’s friend. The friend, using social media, sent a threatening message along with a photograph of himself and the bride. Fearing for his life, the groom chose to cancel the wedding and returned the advance payment. The bride’s mother is now seeking justice, reporting the incident to the local authorities and the cybercrime cell. The alleged perpetrator, a resident of Navgachia, had also been in contact with the bride in the past. The mother said her daughter’s friend had sent a photo with the daughter and was blackmailing the family.
