Prithvi Shaw, the celebrated former captain of India’s Under-19 World Cup-winning team, revealed his plans to News24 regarding his return to the Indian Premier League. Shaw, who was last seen in the 2024 IPL, is aiming to re-enter the Indian franchise cricket. In the interview, he disclosed that he hopes to play for the Mumbai Indians in the forthcoming IPL seasons. This announcement came as a surprise to many, particularly considering Shaw’s long-standing association with the Delhi Capitals, where he played since 2018. He was not retained by Delhi Capitals for the 2025 IPL auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
