The BJP is championing a campaign to posthumously award Swami Sahajanand Saraswati with the Bharat Ratna. A key part of the campaign also involves renaming the Bihta Airport in Patna to honor the legacy of the influential leader. The demands were voiced during a gathering at the BIA Hall in Patna, organized to commemorate the death anniversary of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati. The event was led by Ravindra Ranjan, who heads the Swami Sahajanand Kisan Vahini and is a leading BJP figure. Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, the BJP state president, launched the ceremony, underlining the continued importance of Swami Sahajanand’s work. Jaiswal pointed to Sahajanand’s crucial role in uniting farmers nationally, which brought them into the central stage of Indian politics. He praised Sahajanand’s efforts in abolishing the Zamindari system and his life-long support for the underprivileged. Ravindra Ranjan echoed the appeal to designate either Sahajanand’s birth or death anniversary as National Farmers Day and urged for the integration of his ideas into educational curricula. Ranjan also reiterated that the supporters of Sahajanand are strongly aligned with the BJP.
