The Indore-Dewas stretch of the Agra-Mumbai National Highway has been crippled by a massive traffic jam that has persisted for 32 hours, resulting in three fatalities. The congestion, which has extended to roughly 8 kilometers, was caused by ongoing overbridge construction and the subsequent diversion of the service road near Arjun Baroda. The situation has been further complicated by continuous rainfall, which has led to the formation of large potholes on the service road. The victims were identified as Kamal Panchal, Balram Patel, and Sandeep Patel. Kamal Panchal died after being stuck in the jam, while Balram Patel and Sandeep Patel suffered from heart attacks. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) is now working to expedite service road construction, and alternative routes are being used to reroute vehicles.
