Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the heroes of the Santhal Revolution on the occasion of Hul Diwas. He recognized the valor of Sido-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and Phoolo-Jhano, who fought against foreign oppression. Modi, in a public statement, highlighted the bravery of the tribal community and the historical importance of the Santhal Revolution. He honored the individuals who sacrificed their lives, emphasizing their enduring legacy. Hul Kranti Diwas, observed nationally on June 30, is dedicated to the revolutionaries who bravely opposed British rule. The day commemorates the 1855 revolt, where Sidhu-Kanho and Chand-Bhairav led a large tribal movement against exploitative practices. Meanwhile, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey condemned the Jharkhand government, alleging an attack on Sido Kano’s descendants during the Hul Diwas celebrations. He accused the government of targeting civilians, including women and children, and questioned their respect for tribal contributions to India’s freedom.
