Dr. Satish Kumar, the in-charge of the Choupahran Community Health Center in Hazaribagh, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday as a result of a sting operation. The ACB’s action followed a complaint from Ujjwal Sinha, who runs Mamta Vahan Seva. Sinha alleged that Dr. Kumar asked for 3,000 rupees to clear his 25,000 rupees in outstanding bills. After a preliminary inquiry that substantiated the claims, the ACB team moved in and made the arrest. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed. The event has sent shockwaves through the health department, and the news is widely discussed in Choupahran and nearby regions.
