The rationalization process in Chhattisgarh has significantly improved and balanced the state’s education system. Before this initiative, 453 schools were without teachers. Now, every school has a teacher.

Further, teachers have been posted in 4728 out of 5936 single-teacher schools. This is a positive step that will lead to improved education and better learning for students.

In some districts in the Bastar and Surguja divisions, about 1208 single-teacher schools still exist due to teacher shortages. These shortages will be addressed soon through promotions of headmasters and lecturers, and the direct hiring of approximately 5000 teachers. The aim is to eliminate single-teacher schools and address teacher shortages in other schools.

This rationalization was implemented under the Right to Education Act-2009 and the National Education Policy-2020. The 2008 setup is no longer relevant at the primary and upper primary levels. Disciplinary actions were taken against officials and employees involved in any irregularities.
