The Governor and Chancellor, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, has entrusted Dr. S.C. Dubey, the Vice-Chancellor of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU), with the additional responsibility of the Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand State Open University. Dr. Dubey will be in charge of daily operations until further notice. He will be required to get the Chancellor’s approval for any policy-related decisions. A notification has been issued by the Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni. The previous VC of Jharkhand State Open University, Dr. Triveninath Sahu, completed his three-year term on July 4th. The Raj Bhavan had advertised for a new VC, and several applications were received. The selection process will be conducted by a search committee, headed by the NTA chairman. Dr. S.C. Dubey is set to assume his responsibilities on July 5th. In the meantime, other universities are being managed by existing VCs: Pro. D.K. Singh (Ranchi University), Pro. Anjila Gupta (Women’s University Jamshedpur) and Anjani Kumar Mishra (DSPMU).
