In an airstrike in Gaza City, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) killed Ramzi Ramadan Abd Ali Saleh, who commanded Hamas’ Naval Force in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF said Saleh was crucial to Hamas’ terrorist activities and was involved in maritime attacks against Israeli troops in Gaza. Also killed were Hisham Ayman Atiya Mansour and Nissim Muhammad Suleiman Abu Sabha. The IDF used precise weaponry and took steps to protect civilians. The announcement was made before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with US President Donald Trump. News outlets suggest a 60-day ceasefire that involves releasing hostages and bodies, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The US, Egypt, and Qatar would be guarantors of the agreement, which would include humanitarian aid and a gradual redeployment of Israeli forces.
