The Palajori region observed Muharram on Sunday with grand processions and festivities in various Muslim communities. The occasion, a commemoration of sacrifice, featured Tazia and Akhara processions throughout the block, including Palajori, Mahuadabar, Pokhariya, Leto, Chakleton, Makarkenda, Asahna, Sagarajor, Kumagadha, Mallandih, and Bedgawana Wadih. The processions, which included elaborately constructed Tazias, were visible on the roads from the afternoon. Fairs were held in several locations, notably Mahuadabar and Bedagawana Wadih, drawing large crowds. Young men displayed their skills and prowess in the Akhara, using traditional weapons and performing various stunts. Police Inspector Nagendra Mandal, along with the in-charges of the Palajori and Khaga police stations, oversaw the maintenance of law and order. Additional police personnel were deployed in Muslim-majority villages. Further Akhara processions are scheduled for Monday in the Badiya area. The 7 Star Club of Bedgawana Wadih showcased impressive feats in the Akhara, leaving spectators in awe. Key contributors to the Akhara included Shamsher Ansari, Karimuddin Ansari, Samsul Ansari, Jamal Ansari, and Azad Ansari. Highlights: The youth’s display of skill in the Akhara.
