Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar emphasized that the fight against cancer is not solely a medical one; it also relies on compassion and collective action. Addressing a cancer summit in Ranchi, he noted that cancer impacts not only the physical health of an individual but also affects the mental, social, and emotional well-being of the entire family. He pointed out that along with medication, compassion, trust, and a sense of community are essential elements in the treatment of cancer. The Governor also highlighted the importance of focused efforts to ensure prompt detection and proper treatment of cancer, especially in areas like Jharkhand, where healthcare accessibility can be limited. He recognized the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme as a significant move to offer free, quality care to the poor and vulnerable. He further advocated for a collaborative approach among medical professionals, hospitals, government entities, and society to enhance the effectiveness of the scheme.
