A CPI leader, Chandu Rathod, was fatally shot during his morning walk in Hyderabad. The incident unfolded in the Shalivahana Nagar Park in Malakpet, where unknown attackers ambushed him. Initial reports suggest the assailants arrived in a vehicle and attacked Rathod with chilli powder before opening fire. Local police have filed a murder case and are actively looking into the details of the incident. Rathod, a native of Achampet in Nagarkurnool district, had been living in Chaitanyapuri. Family members have mentioned a dispute, naming a CPI (ML) member, which may have led to the killing. Police are exploring all possible motives.
