The road is an important route, connecting Latehar and Palamu with Chhattisgarh through Mahudandar. The incident has caused considerable delays, stranding numerous travelers. Following the landslide, the administration has begun the work of clearing the road. The landslide was caused by continuous heavy rainfall in the Latehar district, with a portion of a hill collapsing onto the road on Wednesday. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities. The road also provides access to popular tourist locations, adding to the importance of its swift reopening.
