In reaction to the arrest of Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who is under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for money laundering related to a liquor scam, the Congress party has decided to organize an economic blockade throughout the state on July 22. The party has assigned specific individuals to lead the blockade efforts in different districts. The designated leaders are Lakhmeshwar Baghel in Bastar, Mohan Markam in Kondagaon and Narayanpur, Umesh Patel in Raigarh, Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya in Raipur, Dhanendra Sahu in Masturi, Girish Devangan in Durg, Purushottam Kanwar and Mohit Kerketta in Korba, Premsai Singh in Surguja, Ramkumar Yadav in Saraipali, Atal Srivastava in Bilaspur, and Vyas Kashyap in Janjgir-Champa.
