A major road accident in Deoghar, Jharkhand, on Tuesday morning led to the loss of life of five Kanwariyas. The bus carrying the devotees, who were returning after offering prayers at the Baba Baidyanath Dham, collided with a truck in the Mohanpur area. The bus was en route to the Basukinath Temple when it collided with a truck laden with LPG cylinders. The impact was so strong that five people died on the spot. Several others sustained severe injuries and were immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, which is believed to have been caused by the bus driver falling asleep. The crash led to a chaotic scene, with local authorities rushing to provide immediate assistance and support. Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, expressed his grief over the accident. Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey also shared the news on X, mentioning a larger number of casualties.
