The healthcare system in Chhattisgarh is under renewed scrutiny. The CGMSC has issued an order to stop the distribution of certain medications and medical supplies. This includes an immediate ban on the supply and use of two types of injections and four types of surgical gloves. Inspections revealed that the Dextrose with Sodium Chloride injections and Ceftriaxone powder for injection were substandard, thereby endangering patients. Moreover, the quality of surgical gloves has also been questioned, resulting in a ban. The health department’s move has created a sense of urgency within the state’s hospitals. The decision was made with patient safety in mind. Potential action is being considered against the suppliers. The public and medical staff have expressed concerns and requested closer supervision.
