A meeting took place in New Delhi between Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil to discuss the Bodhghat Multipurpose Project. The project is a critical undertaking for the Bastar region, with the potential to transform its economic and social conditions. The project plan includes irrigation for approximately 8 lakh hectares of land, offering direct benefits to farmers, and generating 125 MW of electricity, addressing the area’s energy requirements. Furthermore, the project will establish a comprehensive drinking water supply system for both rural and urban populations. The Union Minister affirmed the central government’s commitment to providing support, recognizing the project’s significance in advancing social progress, creating jobs, and fostering industrial growth in Bastar. The successful and timely implementation of the project, through collaboration between central and state governments, is eagerly awaited, with the expectation that it will usher in a new era for the Bastar region.
