The monsoon has become active again in Chhattisgarh. The Meteorological Department predicts light to moderate rainfall across the central and southern regions of the state over the next five days. This weather pattern is due to the combined effect of the monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation.

The Sarguja division is under special watch, with a forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Over the last 24 hours, various areas across the state witnessed light to moderate rainfall. Rajnandgaon recorded the highest temperature at 33.5 degrees Celsius, and Durg recorded the lowest at 20.6 degrees Celsius.

Raipur is also expected to experience a shift in weather, with overcast conditions and a likelihood of rain with thunderstorms throughout the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 33 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for multiple districts, including Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Mungeli, Sarguja, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur, indicating the possibility of light to moderate rainfall.

The monsoon trough, extending from Sriganganagar to the northeast Bay of Bengal, and cyclonic circulation over eastern Uttar Pradesh are contributing to the weather conditions. This system will lead to increased rainfall activity in Chhattisgarh in the upcoming days. The expected rainfall offers welcome respite to the farming community and general public, who have been awaiting the rains. Residents in areas prone to heavy rainfall are advised to remain vigilant.
