An ongoing operation by security forces in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, resulted in the demolition of three Naxalite bunkers on Friday. The operation specifically targeted the Kolhan-Saranda region, and significant quantities of Naxalite materials were recovered. According to information, Maoist leaders, including Misir Besra, were planning to carry out destructive activities in the Saranda and Kolhan regions. On August 6, the police received intelligence regarding hidden materials in the forest-hill areas of Jaraikela, which the Naxalites could potentially utilize in attacks. In response, a joint team consisting of the Chaibasa police, Cobra 209 Battalion, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar, initiated an operation. During the operation, three Naxalite bunkers were located and destroyed near Handekuli, within the jurisdiction of the Jaraikela police station. The recovered items included batteries, uniforms, boots, and other daily-use items. The authorities are currently investigating the seized materials, and the security forces are maintaining a constant watch on Naxalite activities. The joint operation remains active with the aim of eliminating the Naxalites’ potential hiding spots.
