Australian domestic cricket has witnessed the rise of Nivethan Radhakrishnan, a young cricketer of Indian origin, who has impressed with his performances. Born in Chennai, Radhakrishnan’s family relocated to Sydney in 2013. He possesses a distinctive skill, the ability to bowl with either hand. Radhakrishnan, who participated in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup, regards Ravichandran Ashwin and Nathan Lyon as his role models. He has discussed his development as a professional cricketer, detailing his improvements over the years. He strives to emulate the consistency of Ashwin and Jadeja in his bowling, using varied speeds and deliveries. He patterns his right-handed bowling action after Nathan Lyon, acknowledging Lyon’s wicket-taking prowess. He recently returned to Chennai as part of an Australian initiative that sent 12 players to the MRF Academy in India. This aimed to provide young players, including batsmen, wicketkeepers, and spinners, with crucial experience in Indian conditions. During this period, Radhakrishnan scored 59 runs and took a wicket against Saurashtra. The tour concluded on August 13th.
