The Supreme Court has intervened in the management of the Shri Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan by forming a committee, with retired Allahabad High Court Justice Ashok Kumar as its head. As per the Supreme Court’s written order, this committee will manage the temple’s day-to-day functions until the Allahabad High Court rules on the Uttar Pradesh government’s ordinance. The formation of a trust for the temple’s management, as per the ordinance, has been put on hold by the Supreme Court. This action was taken after the Supreme Court had previously sent the challenge to the ordinance’s constitutional validity to the Allahabad High Court.
