The ‘Aadi Karmayogi’ campaign is launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs as a visionary, action-oriented movement designed to transform grassroots governance and service delivery in India’s tribal regions. At its core lies the ambition to build a dedicated group of over 2 million trained, motivated, and mission-ready transformative leaders. These leaders, including government officials, youth leaders, teachers, health workers, social workers, holders of traditional knowledge, and volunteers, will reach out to over 10.5 crore tribal citizens. They will work in more than 1 lakh tribal-dominated villages across 30 states/UTs. The campaign recognizes that despite prior efforts, tribal areas continue to face challenges in education, healthcare, nutrition, and livelihoods. The Aadi Karmayogis will be selected in consultation with Gram Sabhas to foster trust and cultural sensitivity. They will actively participate in documenting and preserving tribal languages, medical practices, and art forms to promote cultural identity and ensure progress for all.
