The Madras High Court has taken action in the defamation case filed by MS Dhoni, which dates back to a controversy surrounding the IPL. The court has instructed to commence proceedings related to the allegations made against Dhoni concerning the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Dhoni has initiated legal action, claiming ₹100 crore in damages from various parties, including significant media outlets, a journalist, and retired IPS officer G. Sampath Kumar. The central claim revolves around allegations that these individuals implicated Dhoni in the IPL betting scandal. To streamline the process, Justice C.V. Karthikeyan has designated an advocate commissioner, who will record Dhoni’s testimony in Chennai at a location convenient for all parties involved. This arrangement was made keeping in mind Dhoni’s high profile. Dhoni has indicated his availability for cross-examination between October 20th and December 10th, 2025, as per his affidavit.
