The Supreme Court is set to conduct a comprehensive hearing today on petitions filed concerning the Special Intense Review (SIR). A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Joymallya Bagchi will hear the petitions. Petitions regarding SIR have been filed in the Supreme Court by ADR and various opposition political parties. The bench will consider an application from ADR requesting a list of 65 lakh voters excluded from the draft list. The Election Commission has denied this request in an affidavit, citing relevant rules. Meanwhile, a bike rally for Members of Parliament will take place today as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program. The rally will commence at 8 AM from Pragati Maidan and will pass through India Gate and Kartavya Path, concluding at Major Dhyanchand Stadium. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has invited all Members of Parliament to participate in the bike rally. Moreover, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued warnings, indicating that heavy rainfall is anticipated to persist in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today. A red alert has been issued for Uttarakhand, and an orange alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh in anticipation of the rain.
