A powerful cloudburst led to flash floods in the Chositi area of Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, near the starting point of the Machail Mata Yatra. Rescue operations have commenced, as stated by the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar. Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh shared that he had communicated with DC Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, following an urgent alert. The cloudburst in Chositi is feared to have resulted in substantial damage. The administration immediately launched rescue efforts, assessing the situation, and preparing medical provisions. The Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, conveyed his sorrow over the incident and directed the involvement of civil, police, army, NDRF, and SDRF officials to bolster the rescue and relief operations.
