Livingstone, acquired for nearly 9 crore rupees by RCB, and Bethell, the 21-year-old who recently became England’s youngest captain, a record standing for 136 years, were the key players. Bethell was secured by RCB for 2.6 crore rupees.

    The players who contributed to RCB’s first IPL title win in 2025 are continuing their stellar performances. Their impact in The Hundred is significant, with Livingstone leading in runs and Bethell being chosen to captain England in the series against Ireland. Their powerful partnership on August 17 in The Hundred against London Spirit led Birmingham Phoenix to a resounding victory, winning with 35 balls remaining.

    Livingstone and Bethell’s Dominance: 50 Runs in 13 Balls

    In the match, London Spirit, batting first, scored 126 runs for 6 wickets in 100 balls. Birmingham Phoenix, needing 127 runs to win, reached the target in just 65 balls, driven by Joe Clarke’s impressive half-century and the dynamic partnership of Livingstone and Bethell.

    Livingstone and Bethell remained unbeaten, securing the win for their team. They formed a partnership of 63 runs in 25 balls, with an incredible 50 runs scored in a mere 13 balls. This included 6 sixes and 1 four from the two batsmen.

    High Strike Rates: A Display of Aggressive Batting

    Both Livingstone and Bethell showed exceptional strike rates of 225. Livingstone scored 45 runs off 20 balls, including 1 four and 5 sixes. Bethell contributed 18 runs off 8 balls with 2 sixes. Birmingham Phoenix won with 3 wickets remaining, marking their second win in The Hundred out of five matches. Liam Livingstone was rightfully named the Player of the Match.
