The Sri Krishna Medical College & Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, is facing scrutiny following allegations of a baby swap. Chanchala Kumari, from Vijayi Chhapra village, gave birth at the hospital. Initially informed that she had delivered a boy, the family celebrated. However, upon returning home, they found they had a baby girl, leading to accusations against the nursing staff. Police are investigating the matter, with the BHT indicating a male newborn, which the family is using as evidence.
SDPO Vineeta Sinha is leading the investigation, questioning the nursing staff. Dr. Satish Kumar Singh, the Deputy Superintendent of SKMCH, stated that an investigation would be conducted to determine how the discrepancy occurred. Notably, a similar incident occurred in 2020 at the same hospital, involving the swapping of a newborn from the NICU.
