A disturbing event in Ranchi has exposed the dark side of alcohol abuse and its impact on family ties. Grabel Tirkey was murdered by his son, Daud Tirkey, after a dispute over alcohol consumption. The incident occurred in the Sikidiri police station area, where the father’s attempt to stop his son from drinking resulted in a fatal assault. Daud, under the influence of alcohol, attacked his father with an axe, leading to critical injuries. Grabel Tirkey later died at RIMS hospital. Following the incident, Aabha Tirkey, the wife of the deceased, filed a police complaint, resulting in Daud Tirkey’s arrest. This incident echoes a similar event in April in which a son killed his mother, showcasing the severe consequences of alcohol misuse and strained relationships.
