On the occasion of *Jeet*’s release, Karisma Kapoor was asked about her mother Babita’s earlier film, also titled *Jeet*, which featured her father, Randhir Kapoor. Karisma noted the distinction between the two films, stating that her *Jeet* was a fresh interpretation. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Raj Kanwar, was, in reality, inspired by Prakash Mehra’s *Muqaddar Ka Sikandar*. Sunny Deol played Karan, with Karisma as Kajal, and Tabu as the character Tulsi. The film’s casting choices were questioned. Although *Jeet* was a commercial success, the actors did not see significant career boosts. Raj Kanwar, the director, was not always recognized for his successes; the credits were often attributed to the producers, as seen in *Andaaz* and *Jeet*.
