The controversy also involves allegations from several women, including Rini Ann George and Avantika, who have accused him of sending sexually suggestive messages and inviting them to five-star hotels for overnight stays. Rini Ann George reported that Rahul used to harass her through messages, and she had reported this to the Congress leadership. She also claimed that Rahul has repeatedly misbehaved with the wives and daughters of several leaders. The opposition BJP has demanded that Mamkootathil resign from the state assembly.
