At the Suzuki Motor Plant in Hansalpur, Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officiated the launch of exports for the e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki’s inaugural global strategic Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The ‘Made in India’ e-Vitara will be exported to over a hundred countries. Complementing this, the localized production of hybrid battery electrodes was initiated, furthering the nation’s self-reliance in the green mobility sector. The e-Vitara’s introduction to the Indian market occurred in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This initiative aligns with the government’s larger strategy to establish India as a global leader in electric mobility, advanced manufacturing, and infrastructure development. The launch of the e-VITARA represents a major step toward self-reliance in green energy and reinforces India’s position as Suzuki’s global manufacturing hub for electric vehicles.
