A comprehensive report from the United Nations discloses that over 2.1 billion people across the world are deprived of access to clean drinking water. It means that one in every four individuals is compelled to drink unsafe water. According to the report, a significant population of over 100 million people depends on sources such as rivers, ponds, and canals for their water needs. The World Health Organization and UNICEF have emphasized the widespread illnesses resulting from inadequate water, sanitation, and healthcare. Addressing these global challenges is critical; however, no major changes are anticipated before 2030. Furthermore, a key figure from the World Health Organization stressed that access to safe water and sanitation is a basic human right, not a privilege.
