Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the employment landscape, creating both opportunities and challenges. While AI enhances productivity for some, it also leads to job displacement in certain sectors. A new study from Stanford University delves into the impact of AI, particularly on younger employees.

The study analyzed payroll data from ADP between late 2022 and mid-2025, focusing on the effects of generative AI tools like ChatGPT. The findings indicate a decrease in job opportunities for those aged 22 to 25 in sectors such as software development and customer service, highlighting the challenges young professionals face in an increasingly automated world. The study suggests that entry-level roles, such as those for budding developers, are being significantly impacted.
