Prayagraj police are investigating a gruesome murder case involving a property dealer who allegedly killed and dismembered his 17-year-old grand-nephew. The suspect, Sharan Singh, was arrested in the Kareli area. Preliminary findings indicate that Singh acted under the guidance of a tantric, seeking to alleviate personal problems. Singh confessed to the crime and is cooperating with the police in their search for the tantric. Singh’s motivations stemmed from the suicides of his two children and the passing of his brother. He consulted an occultist who purportedly claimed the grand-nephew was meant to die instead of his children. The tantric then advised Singh to kill someone of the same age to resolve his issues. The victim, Piyush, went missing after attending school. The police discovered a torso in a drain and subsequently found the head, leading to the identification of the body. Witness testimony and CCTV footage played a crucial role in linking Singh to the crime, resulting in his arrest. The police are currently working to apprehend the tantric.
