A cloudburst in Dewal, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, has caused significant damage and resulted in the disappearance of two individuals. Numerous animals have also been impacted. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari stated that the heavy rainfall has led to road closures, and relief teams have been dispatched to manage the situation.

Authorities have issued warnings for severe rainfall in regions including Rudraprayag and Kedarnath. Schools across several districts have been shut down as a safety measure. The motorway in Kedarnath is currently inaccessible due to the collapse of a bridge.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand expressed his concern, reporting that cloudbursts in the Bareth Dungar Tok area of Rudraprayag and the Deval area of Chamoli have caused families to be trapped by debris. He confirmed that rescue and relief operations are in progress, led by the local administration. The Chief Minister is actively engaged with officials, issuing essential instructions to facilitate rescue operations. He has also shared his prayers for the safe return of all affected individuals.
