A man named Mohammad Rizvi, also known as Raja, has been arrested in Darbhanga, Bihar, in connection with making offensive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother during a rally organized by the Congress party as part of Rahul Gandhi’s voter rights campaign on August 27th. Rizvi, who works as a driver and also runs a tire repair shop, was confirmed as the suspect by Surendra Kumar Suman, SDPO-2 of Darbhanga Sadar. This arrest is a result of an FIR filed by BJP district president Aditya Narayan Manna, which names Congress leader Mohammad Naushad as the main accused. The police presented the accused to the media and are conducting further investigations to determine the motive behind the offensive remarks and identify any other people involved. The incident was captured on video, which quickly spread across social media. The BJP has criticized the Congress following the incident, while the rally organizer, Naushad, has since apologized to PM Modi.
