Portal Opens for MP Sports Festival on National Sports Day

A sports festival was organized at the local District Athletics Stadium, Baralota, on National Sports Day to celebrate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand. Palamu MP V.D. Ram attended as the chief guest. He motivated participants in various sports competitions, including races and traditional games. The MP, along with District Sports Officer Ratan Kumar Singh, presented medals, trophies, and certificates to the winners. The MP initiated the program by paying his respects to Major Dhyan Chand’s image and officially starting the games. The MP announced the launch of the MP Sports Festival 2025, a program initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the portal for registration opened on August 29. This festival aims to provide a platform for hidden talents in rural and backward regions. Sports competitions will be held at the Gram Panchayat, Block, and District levels. Registration will be open from August 29 to September 20, with events including volleyball, badminton, athletics, karate, wrestling, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, and tug-of-war.
