Jyoti Singh’s Facebook post detailed her attempts to communicate with her husband. She wrote, ‘Dear Pawan Singh, I’ve tried for months to discuss family and political matters, but you and your team haven’t responded to my attempts to connect. I traveled to Lucknow and Dehri to meet you, but my attempts were denied. I was told that a meeting in Lucknow was the priority. Even my father tried to speak with you, but there was no positive outcome.’
The letter shows a lack of communication from Pawan Singh. Jyoti Singh continued to express her feelings, stating, ‘What wrong have I done to deserve this suffering? They are ruining my parents’ reputation.’
Jyoti Singh further stated, ‘If I was not suitable for you, you should have kept the distance as before.’ She added, ‘You involved me in your Lok Sabha election campaign, but now I feel like I have no option but to end my life. But I know that if I take such a step, the blame will fall on me and my family.’
Jyoti Singh reminded Pawan Singh of his marital duties. She wrote that she has always stood by him. She asked him to reciprocate her efforts. She also mentioned how he embraces others while ignoring her feelings. ‘You embrace those who come to you after speaking ill of you, but when I try to share my problems, who will listen? My own family doesn’t understand me.’
Jyoti Singh’s letter concludes with a last request to Pawan Singh. After seven years of difficulty, she feels hopeless. She requested that he answer her calls and messages. She hopes Pawan Singh will consider her pain.
