The Indian cricket team, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, is preparing for the 2025 Asia Cup. The team’s 15 members will convene directly in Dubai on September 4, prior to the tournament’s start on September 9. Unlike previous tournaments, the players will travel to Dubai from their respective locations, avoiding an initial assembly in Mumbai. This approach aims to simplify logistics and increase player comfort. The first practice session will be held on September 5 at the ICC Academy. India’s Asia Cup matches are slated to begin against the UAE on September 10, followed by a match against Pakistan on September 14, both in Dubai. The group stage concludes with a match against Oman on September 19, preceding the Super Four stage. A few players are currently occupied with domestic cricket commitments. Standby players will not join the team as net bowlers. India is optimistic that this strategic direct arrival and the balance within the team will lead to a strong performance in Dubai, providing a solid foundation for a successful Asia Cup.
