A new mobile application, known as e-Aadhaar, is being developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to simplify the updating of Aadhaar details. This app will allow users to update critical personal information, including name, date of birth, mobile number, and address, from their mobile devices. The launch is anticipated by the end of 2025. The app is designed to be user-friendly and will leverage AI and Face ID technology for added security. The new app aims to offer a streamlined and convenient approach, minimizing the need to visit enrollment centers. From November, biometric checks will be the only reason for visiting the centers. The e-Aadhaar app is designed to simplify updates, reduce paperwork, and decrease fraud risks. Additionally, the UIDAI is working to automatically pull user information from verified government sources, which include various official documents like birth certificates and utility bills, to streamline the verification process.
