APAAR ID: Simplifying Academic Journeys with Digital Credentials

The Indian government’s Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR ID), launched in 2023, is a key component of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It is designed to transform the way students manage their academic records by providing a unified digital identity. The APAAR ID streamlines the access and transfer of educational information across educational institutions both domestically and internationally. It is a unique 12-digit code that allows students to digitally store and manage their academic records. This includes essential documents like scorecards, mark sheets, grade sheets, degrees, diplomas, certificates, and details of co-curricular achievements. This system aims to ensure seamless transitions between educational levels and institutions, thereby benefiting students across diverse academic platforms.
