The inclusion of two Pakistani women in Bihar’s voter list has triggered an inquiry. The incident came to light during a Ministry of Home Affairs verification drive. Imrana Khanam and Firdousia Khanam were issued voter ID cards and included in the draft voter list in Bhagalpur. The women had been verified during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. Notices will be sent to the women, requiring them to present documents. One of the officers involved stated that she received a letter from the department with their passport numbers and then was asked to remove their names. The investigation is ongoing, and the district administration is taking the necessary steps to address the situation.
